Hood Cleaning Technician

SouthWest Diversified is looking to hire and train a Hood Cleaning Technician. There are part-time and full-time positions available, with flexible hours. No experience required; on-the-job training will be provided. However, previous mechanical, electrical, HVAC, pressure washing, janitorial cleaning, or kitchen exhaust hood cleaning experience is a plus. This is primarily night work on Sunday through Thursday nights with hours that vary.

Technician Must:

• Have a valid Driver’s License with a minimum of 3 years driving experience.
• Have personal transportation to and from our offices in Chelsea AL, North Phoenix AZ, OR Hemet, CA.
• Have a good driving record that passes our insurance company’s requirements.
• Be willing to drive a full-size company van to job sites.
• Have a working cell phone and respond promptly to all calls from management.
• Have a professional appearance.
• Be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening and criminal background check.
• Be dependable; able to show up on time, read and follow instructions.
• Be physically fit; able to climb ladders, able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. at times.
• Have excellent attention to detail, and be able to work quickly and efficiently.
• Be able to work flexible hours; nights, early mornings, and some weekends.
• Be able to work safely in both hot, cold, and/or inclement weather.
• Be able to complete work projects from start to finish with limited supervision.
• Be fluent in English; able to communicate well with customers and other team members.
• Be able to learn new procedures quickly to assist with the exhaust cleaning process.

Job Duties Include:

• The set-up and take-down of equipment including: hanging plastic sheeting, mixing chemicals, setting up ladders, wet/dry vacuums, pre-sprayers, garden hoses, and high-pressure hoses.
• Pre-scraping greasy buildup from affected areas of kitchen exhaust systems.
• Pressure washing the interior of kitchen exhaust systems (fans, ducts, and hoods).
• Final clean-up in kitchens by wiping down the hoods, mopping up the floors, etc.
• Digital photography of all work performed at each job.
• Independent completion of work projects with limited supervision.
• Reporting mechanical deficiencies of customer and/or company equipment to management.
• Maintaining the cleanliness of company tools, equipment, and vehicles each night.
